Looking for an Aya/Yohji fic [Oct. 30th, 2010|10:34 pm]

I'm looking for an Aya/Yohji fic that was on Mediaminer. I may have been called "Red" but I think the name had been changed. All I remember is Yohji is badly hurt in a blast, burns his hands badly, brakes a wrist, sprains his ankle. Aya freaks out and all but has a breakdown. He sleeps next to Yohji's bed until he wakes up. Yohji plays jazz music and Aya really likes it. They start giving each other flows that have meanings. Yohji's has a big long list of flowers for Aya and when Aya totals them up he adds in a fork lift rental fee, jokingly.

That's all I remember. Does it tickle anyones memory?

I don't remember the name of the fic, but the author was Pyrzm.

I think the title changed to Crazy Red was the New Guy. The original title was The New Guy. I can't find it on Mediaminer. She may have removed it.

She seems to have taken down all her fic with the exception of a couple GW pieces hosted @ a genre specific archive. Maybe email her?

The New Guy by pyrzm

I remember the Yohji/Aya fic you speak of very well. As previous commenters have stated, the name of this story was "The New Guy" by pyrzm. What I liked best about this story was the way Yohji introduced his favorite music to Aya. Music that was at times sensual and comforting and, at other times, really rocking! Many of them became my favorites: "I'm Your Man" by Leonard Cohen. (Another one of Cohen's songs, "Hallelujah", was sung beautifully by Justin Timberlake.) Another of Yohji's songs is "It's Probably Me" by Sting, which touched and surprised me because it didn't really seem like the sort of song Sting would record. "Rock Me Baby" by B.B.King and Eric Clapton was a rollicking song that really made me smile and feel like dancing.

And, as you mentioned, the way that Yohji tried to show a shy and fragile Aya his burgeoning love for him through the delicate language of flowers.

It is always sad when favorite stories are no longer available for us to enjoy online. But just remembering the pleasure I felt when I first read "The New Guy" is a pleasure all by itself. :)

Re: Thank you!

Hi! Could you send it to me as well?

If it's not too much trouble. :)

If anyone could send this story to me as well, either through a link or PM (I'll send an e-mail address if you're more comfortable with that method), I'd be VERY grateful! I've been looking for this story for a while myself; I have a couple of pyrzm's fics (Saiyuki I think) and I really enjoy this writer's style. Wish I could let the author know personally, but I don't have an e-mail address.

Again, thank you very much! If no one has this story anymore or the author doesn't wish to share it, then that's okay. Thanks for sharing the name and author of this story, it sounds sooooo good! :-)
